Homeschool Debate Tournament
Campus of CIU, Columbia, SC
March 13-15, 2008
Urgent need for volunteer judges!
From March 13-15, the Homeschool Speech and Debate Families of South Carolina are hosting a three-day speech and debate tournament. Students from the four-state area will be gathering together to compete and hone their skills.
The homeschool debate community of South Carolina would like to extend an offer to you to volunteer as a judge at this year’s South Carolina Qualifying Speech and Debate Tournament. Those of you who have previously attended our tournaments know that we provide training for all events and no experience is necessary.
Volunteering to judge means graciously donating three hours of your time on any of the tournament days. Be assured, we will train you, feed you, and respect your time. You would be a blessing to these students who have been striving to polish their public speaking and critical thinking skills. We are convinced that they, in turn, will encourage and inspire you. Come see what debate is all about and catch the vision! Over 400 judges are needed for this event.
Contact us today! To volunteer, as an adult eighteen years of age or older, or for more information, please call or email Ann Lonon (Judge Coordinator) 467-2481, debatejudges08@gmail.com. For more information on debate visit NCFCA.ORG for national orSCDEBATE.ORGfor South Carolina speech and debate information.
